Dr. Manjiri Bhalerao

Dr. Manjiri Bhalerao is currently working as an Associate Professor of Indology in Shri Balmukund Lohia, Centre of Sanskrit & Indological Studies, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. She has taken training in History, Archaeology, Indology, Prakrit, and Sanskrit. Her areas of research are Buddhism, Ancient Indian Art & Architecture, Archaeology, Epigraphy, Numismatics, Iconography, ancient Indian literature, etc. She has been a recipient of the University Grant Commission’s Junior and Senior Research Fellowships. She has completed research projects for the mission of the Nehru Trust for Indian Collections at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, to work in India and of the K.R. Cama Oriental Institute, Mumbai. Currently, she is working on a major research project awarded by the ICHR. She has worked as a member of the Editorial Board for History textbooks for the Govt. of Maharashtra and for the Gazetteer Department, Govt. of Maharashtra. She is also a member of the Board of Studies of many universities. She has participated in 21 International, 27 National, and 10 regional seminars and has presented research papers. Her publications include 3 books (as a co-author), and 27 research articles. She is currently on the Regional Advisory Board of the ICCR at Pune.
