Ramayan and Mahabharat are the most popular epics of India. Ramayana, one of the oldest epics of the world, is ascribed to Maharshi Valmiki. The word Ramayana has two parts- Rama (Lord Rama who is the central figure) and Ayana which means travel. The main characters of Ramayana greatly influenced the cultural consciousness of India as well as many other countries in South-East Asia.
Mahabharata, the second most
important Indian epic ascribed to Vyasa Muni.
Mahabharata is the story of
the battle between Kaurava and Pandava.
With the help of Lord Shri Krishna, Pandava conquered in this battle.
Mahabharata portrays thousands of characters that are archetypes of human behavior.
